In late 2008 it was estimated that Cashback Sites had an aggregate membership of 2.5 million not all active of course. Savvy cashback users typically researched the best price then returned to their cashback site to see if they could earn their cashback. If they are members of several cashback sites then they would choose the site with best offer.
Cashback is most often used for home and car insurance where cashback might be up to £80. In general the public are far more aware of price comparison sites than cashback sites due to the extensive TV advertising.
Savvy users once again use the price comparison sites to find the best price and then make their purchase via their cashback sites. Research suggest that one in two UK adults is aware of the existence of Cashback sites, with nearly 2.5 million having made online purchases of goods or services in this way.

My own personal experience is that many people are skeptical about Cashback when I explain to friends that for just by making a few extra clicks they earn save on nearly all their online purchases I just see a glazed look come over their faces.

Cash back is a type of rewards program offered by different shops, creditors, lenders, credit counseling agencies (generally Christian ones), and shopping centers and so on. The person in case of cash back offers receives a cash rebate on the amount charged on the card or any such offer cards. As the cost of living is rising, the importance and popularity of the cash back offers are increasing too. If you are in debt, and if you go for debt advice, the counselors may even ask you to pay off your mortgage and credit cards on time as you get rebates and cash backs on that. For that they may even ask you to improve your income and lower your expenditures if possible.
Cash back offers
There are various kinds of cash back offers and trends and there are in fact many companies that offer cash back.
- Cash back scheme for tenants – The housing minister in UK is going to introduce a new Tenant Cashback scheme for the residents that will help them to control the budget on home repair. The tenants can also save the spare money from the Cashback offer. So, if you are a tenant you can start the repair work of the place you are living in rather than asking your landlord to do the same.
- Cash back websites – There are several Cashback websites that provide various Cashback offers from well known companies like Avis, Cosmos Holidays, Comet, Walktall and so on. Cosmos Holidays is a well known company offering package holidays, discounts and special offers on travel costs.
- Cash back credit cards – There are also Cashback credit card offers. The credit cards offer cash back on purchases made through their cards. Some of such cards are the Escape Card, the Cashplus Gold Mastercard, Lloyds TSB Airmiles Duo Credit Card, Barclaycard and so on. The Cashback money comes from or are rather paid by the retailers. This is a form of advertising in order to popularize their companies in the market and amongst the people.
- Cash back mortgages – There is yet another Cashback trend and this is the Cashback mortgage. In case of the Cashback mortgages the borrower is paid back a lump sum after he or she completes the payments on the mortgage. There are basically two ways in which the cash back mortgages are offered. One Cashback trend in mortgages is the one which is offered at the lenders standard variable rate, the cash back in this case can even be as high as 6% of the mortgage amount (the new one). The borrower can even choose to spend the cash in whatever way he or she may wish. The other trend is where the offer is made along with another type of mortgage.
So, you can see that cash back offers help you a lot in lowering your expenditures, saving money and motivating you to make on-time payments.

In these competitive times BOGOF Buy One Get One Free is being replaced by BOGTF Buy One get TWO Free. Now as usual CARPE DIEM you should only buy these things if, firstly you actually need them in the first place and secondly you need lots of them. An industry spokesman said these deals have increased phenomenally over the past two years. This offer could work extremely well in categories where products can be stored for future use.

Now as usual Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware) some of the items on these sites are genuinely free and some are only free trials which you have to remember to cancel after the free period (easy to forget). So learn to distinguish between the absolutely free and the watch out for the sting free! You will see a lot of offers for Free Credit Reports for instance.
The things that are most likely to be absolutely free are Cosmetics and Food Samples they will likely come with extra coupons to get discounts on the same products in your local stores.

As far as I know Greasy Palm one of the pioneers of cash-back are the only cash-back site to offer cash-back on High Street purchases. All you have to do is register your credit-card number with them (nothing else) and then when you make a purchase at one of the participating stores you automatically get cash-bask no hassle for you at all. The one I appreciate best is Halfords where we spend a lot. See which stores participate below and then join Greasy Palm for Free here .

Saw a friend using this the other day it’s where everyone is going to check out hot deals. HUKD is a community for deal seekers. Find and share the best deals, promotional codes and vouchers from on and off the web.
HotUKDeals.com was founded in August 2004 as a place for consumers to freely share deal tips, voucher codes and other consumer information. The purpose of the site is to escape from the marketing messages and ads that surround us and get genuine advice from other people about hot deals.

Pound Shops are booming all over the UK. Pound stores, together with discount supermarkets, thrived in the recession as hard-pressed shoppers sought out the best value. But while the fortunes of the discount grocers have gone into reverse over the past year, as the big supermarkets fought back and shoppers’ confidence has returned, Poundland has continued to grow.
The stores break all the rules of retail. Analysts like to see shops offering similar goods at “good, better and best” prices to provide customer choice. They like stores to be focused and inspirational. Poundland charges just one price – £1 – and sells hair grips and books alongside sandwiches, shampoo and sets of pink spanners for women who change their own tyres.
I have found some real bargains in these stores.
